Hello digital masters!

Just thought I’d show you how I used water color pencils, and Triart/Copic markers with Twinkling H2Os to paint two of my digital images. Click any thumbnail for a larger view.

Images were printed with Epson all in one, RX620 on plain white 110# cardstock. I DO have problems with the twinks making the ink run, so I’m very careful with my painting!! I think it has something to do with the papers I’m using…we shall see what the next batch brings!

: First verse: Supplies needed-twinks, wc pencils and a printed digital image

: Begin by laying down a base color, when coloring a large area, I lay my pencil on it's side.

: Dont' worry too much about direction, it will all blend in when you apply the twinks

: See all images have a base color in wc pencil, and that's it.

: Activate the twinkling H2O by spritzing with a bit of water

: Carefully apply the first color of twinks. I used a light pink called Chifon Pink

: Now apply a darker color of twinks to get a bit of shading-I used Black Cherry

: Blend using a small craft brush/ water brush etc (I use mine wb empty, so I can control the amount of water being applied to the paper). Blend working inwards, toward the open area of the image, and AWAY from the computer ink lines.

: Now to do the blue bird. I used Tahitian Blue first, and then shaded with this color; called Ocean Wave. Notice I do not have a lot of water in there.

: See how on this angle, there is VERY little water ; just enough to activate the twinks.

: Apply the same Chiffon pink and Black Cherry combo we used earlier on the smaller hearts

: Look how pretty the twinks are!

: Inside of finished card-stamped a phrase, and add a nice flourish to anchor the phrase.

: Second verse-this time using Triart markers, and Copics!

: Color with base color-I used my lightest color first

: This time, we are going to shade BEFORE we add the twinks. Add a second, darker color

: Now add the darkest color you are using. A good rule of thumb when working with these markers is to choose colors that are no more than 2 digits away from each other in the sequence. ie. R 3 and R 5 play very nicely together. As do R5 and R7..but R3 adn R7 do not blend very well at all.

: Now apply ONE color of twinks. I used the chiffon pink again, for all of the hearts, and just Tahitian blue for the blue bird

: I did not blend the copics really well, before adding the twinks, I wanted to see how it would look. I ended up adding a bit more of my base color (over the twinks) to blend the marker a bit more. Then I added a bit more twinks.

: to finish I added one of the punch conversation words (free download!) and inked the edges. I punched this one using a 1 1/8" punch. This heart is about 3x4 "
