Spray Starch Backgrounds!by Lorraine R.
Tutorial for Spray Starch Technique
By: Lorraine Revalee
This is a fun and simple technique that I saw in one of the rubber stamp magazines.
Supplies:
Spray starch
Pearl Ex Powders
VersaMark ink pad
Black cardstock cut in ¼ sheets
Small paint brush
Foam Brush
White or Foam White embossing powder
Heat Gun
Stamp
Container for rinsing foam brush
Shake can well and spray black cs so it’s foamy. Drop Pex powder from small paintbrush.
Smooth and brush with foam brush till cs is completely covered.
Try brushing in different directions.
When cardstock is dry, ink stamp image with VersaMark and emboss with white or foam white embossing powder.
If using a silver background or one that is very light colored, black embossing powder may be substituted instead of white to make it “pop.”
