Scenic Birthday

June 03, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Came home from work the other day, and saw this scene in my front yard. The cardinal was sitting on a rock under the tree, and the birds were on the bird feeder. It was so peaceful I just sat in my driveway for a few minutes and enjoyed it. Decided to create this card to share with all of you. Hope you find some peaceful moments today.

Images used : Little Bird Told MeCreate a Scene, Little Things, Pitchin In,   Colors: Copics/ Triart           Bg created with cat’s eye ink pads (dtp)

Monday Spotlight

May 24, 2010 By: Pamela Category: 2-Guest Designers, Card Art

Sorry I’m a bit late today, but I’ve been out of town since Thursday!

Here’s this week’s inspirational piece of art by Joanne Travis!

Joanne says <<<I used the cardinal from The Little Things with the A Little Bird Told Me set. Image was colored in Copic markers and I made a homemade template for the clouds by ripping a piece of paper and sponging the edges with Soft Sky ink. For the grass around the birdbath I inked in a portion of the mountains scenery in olive ink from The Little Things set and stamped repeatedly to make grass. Paper and cardstock are Stampin’ Up.>>>>

Creating a light box tutorial

March 14, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Card Art, Digital Images, Tutorials

I was looking on line for ways to create my own light box, and stumbled across these two sites: Digital Photography School and How to DIY-strobis blogspot

After reading thru them, I figured I’d give it a go, with what I had on hand…lol.  Click the thumbs for larger images.

Supplies:

Razor blade (ended up using my dh and his  banana knife)

Box from my new rice cooker (still in the garage-the box, not the cooker)

White tissue paper

Packing tape

Desk lamp tall enough to go over the top of the box (had one in the corner by my embossing station….yeah…gonna be a little dark over there now..lol)

You can see my white paper is not all white and clean like it should be, BUT the colors of my cards are TRUE to life..which is nice! I did use the auto fade correction button in psp tho, so I have to work on my lighting a bit…over all..not bad for stuff I had on hand huh??

Here’s a card sample of the affect I did accomplish.

Digital Image used:  Child of Summer Stamp image used: Doodles Hearts and Scrolls, Solid (small flowers)    Colors: Copics, Triart markers        Inks: Adirondack-Purple Twilight      Paper-Office Max plain white 110# paper, dp-no idea                Extras:  Purple ribbon-JoAnn Etc.; Bling-$ bin Michaels; Die Cut-Nestabilities Label 3       Printer: Epson All in One Photo RX 620

I used a purple marker to ink along the edges of the cs

Monday Spotlight Art-Chris Dickinson!

December 07, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

December’s spotlight artist is Chris Dickinson!! Please help me welcome her to FCD!

Hello!! I'm Chris!!

Hello!! I'm Chris!!

A little about her:

Hi! I am Chris Dickinson, a stay at home mom, happily married to a wonderful man named Adam who encourages my stamping habit. We live in Southeastern Wisconsin. I have 4 beautiful children - I home school each of our children and am in Leadership of the Card Ministry Team at our Church. I started out scrapbooking 12 years ago, and  evolved into stamping about 6 years ago. I still scrapbook, but like stamping for the more immediate gratification of completing projects. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, playing games, watching movies and reading. For more of her artwork, check out her blog here!

Now, I know you are excited to see her first piece……..and you WON”T be disappointed!
