Introducing the FCD March Spotlight Artist

March 01, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

FCD is proud to announce Ms. Boni Boutelle-Jones as the Monday spotlight artist for March!

a little about her:

Hi! My name is Boni Boutelle-Jones and I hail from the beautiful and historical state of Virginia. I am a vagabond of sorts and have been afforded the opportunity to live my life all over this intriguing and beguiling world. My blog bio pretty much says it all for me as it is entirely true, each word. LOL I am married to a wonderful man who does not try to get me to conform to life’s standards (although sometimes he may try - like when I climb a fire escape to take a picture of a really cool piece of graffiti so I can turn it in to a card or scrapbook page). My life is lived in adventures boniunparalleled.  I have two handsome sons, one who all brute and might defending our country and the other who is sweet, funny and quite the charmer.  I love all things artistic and crafty. I am the type of crafter who is able to see something once and recreate it OR find a color palette or design and reconstruct in miniature.  I started scrapping and journaling when I was a teenager (before it became popular) and I started making cards about 15 years ago. I love the instant gratification of a card and the story telling of a scrapbook page. You will find a lot of both when you stop by to visit. I hope that you do - I love meeting new people and I am always up for eye candy!! Please stop by and say hi!

Boni chose to combine her FCD images for her art submissions all month!

This first piece uses Elephants on Parade

The background on this is so interesting…it reminds me of cloisonne  jewelry.  So 3 dimensional!!

Her second choice for today uses So Far Away set.  (This set is a  beautiful tribute to the military.)

Love the bg papers on this, and the swatch of material really brings it together.

The last of Allison’s art pieces for FCD…hasn’t she done a bang up job showcasing these lovely Daisies??

By Allison Fillo (as always, click the images for larger view)

I like the way she combined the squares behind the oval on this…then balanced it with the bow on the other side…neat sketch!

Allison calls this one  “Looking at Your Stamps in a Whole New Way”! She made a birthday card for one of her son’s friends with the daisy head…as her  four-year old daughter said, “It’s monsterific!”. GRIN

Monday Spotlight Artist-Allison Fillo

February 08, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Our guest designer for February is Allison Fillo from Canada!

A little about her:

Hi! I am Allison and you may know me from my blog Stampin’ When I Can. I have three children - Tristan, Charlotte and Avery. I started stamping in 2004 with some nudges from my sister-in-law (since I was not going to stamp…no, not me!). After making my own Christmas cards, and learning that one of my neighbours was a SU! demo, I was hooked and readily enabled! While I enjoyed making cards, it wasn’t until I started my blog that I was able to better my efforts through daily card-making. My blog has been a fabulous outlet for improving my skills, meeting people from around the world and getting exposed to so many different styles. In my spare time (ha!), I work as a technical writer for an explosives detection company…needless to say, stamping is a necessary diversion from the travails of manuals and housework!

Check out my blog http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com

and now some gorgeous creations she made!
