It’s Guest Designer Day!

November 09, 2009 By: Pamela Category: 2-Guest Designers, Card Art

More beautiful art by Leslie Miller!

Stamp sets used: Fall Flowers,   Fall Quotes Coloring: Prismacolor Markers

I really like the way the warm yellows are added to the edge of the stark white background, and match beautifully the background dp.  Really wonderful shading on the petals too!

The quote is from the Fall Quotes sets, and is part of a poem I adapted by Helen Hunt Jackson:

The golden-rod is yellow; The corn is turning brown; The trees in apple orchards  With fruit are bending down.

The Harvest is so plenty, The Sun is glowing warm. Thinking of You sweetly, On this gentle Autumn Morn.

more Easter art

April 07, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

these are a few cards I made for a group I’m in…hopefully they won’t look here before receiving them. lol

I had enough of this paper to create 6 cards. I’m trying hard to use up some of my paper stash…

Sets used: Easter Blessings

Sets used: Easter Blessings

I embossed the rust colored paper (yeah, I know..not a very spring/Eastery color..lol) I took a white gell pen, and dotted the edges of the raised portions . Added a pink shimmery cs on top of that, to spring it up, and then an off white piece to stamp on.  Added a sheer purple ribbon, and tied the book mark to it with dark purple ribbon. The thougth being, they would untie the light purple ribbon to remove the book mark, then retie it.

The book mark is double sided, I used their initials, and white gell pen agian, to dot and highlite it. One side has the flower, which has been painted with Shimmerz.  The letter circles were part of a rak I got from one of the gals in that same group, I just glued them together, with the ribbon in between them. Inked the edges, added the details, and flowers. Done.

See how the shimmerz shines so prettily?

Cards by teens

March 20, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Thought I’d share the cards my girls created recently.

This one was done for a friend of  ours who is turning 5 this week. She LOVES cats!!

My dd, K (16) stamped the halloween cat from Pawsitively Frightful, on the mat. Then stamped it again on dp, (inking only the edge of the hat with a marker) and cut it out. She glued it over the halloween hat and added tons of pink poinsettia shimmerz!! Also painted in the pink shimmerz on the cats toe nails, and nose…used Lilac and Pink shimmerz for the hat streamers.

Stamped the greeting (Pawsitively set, and Birthday Wishes set) on top, and stamped the word groovy (from Lizzie Cat set) on the same dp as the hat, adhered it, and covered it in shimmerz too. Since we are mailing the card, we decided to go with faux brads. Using a paper punch, created the brads from the same dp, and shimmered them up too.

Sets: Pawsitively Frightful, Lizzie Cat, Birthday Greetings

This second card was created by E (14), as a thank you card for some church volunteers. (She volunteered to make the card for the Youth Ministry leader to give to the volunteers)

She used the flowers from: Tip Toe Tulips, Golden Daffodils, and Sitting Pretty, Butter/Dragon Fly, Some one Special (thank you)  Die Cuts,     TONS of Shimmerz: Royal Red, Sunflower, Lilac, Apricot, Pink all painted on top of wc pencils.
