OMG, Leslie just blows me away every week! LOOK how she used the  leaves in the Fall Flowers!!  She used Prismacolor alcohol markers (similar to Copics) on watercolor paper. AND, she’s posting a TUTORIAL on using these markers later today! Jump over to her blog and have a look at the tutorial, I know I will!!

It’s Guest Designer Day!

November 09, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

More beautiful art by Leslie Miller!

Stamp sets used: Fall Flowers,   Fall Quotes Coloring: Prismacolor Markers

I really like the way the warm yellows are added to the edge of the stark white background, and match beautifully the background dp.  Really wonderful shading on the petals too!

The quote is from the Fall Quotes sets, and is part of a poem I adapted by Helen Hunt Jackson:

The golden-rod is yellow; The corn is turning brown; The trees in apple orchards  With fruit are bending down.

The Harvest is so plenty, The Sun is glowing warm. Thinking of You sweetly, On this gentle Autumn Morn.

Blog Hop October

October 15, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Blog Hops, Card Art

Official start:  Oct 16 -08:00 (EST)
This blog hop will end on Oct 19 , 2200 (that’s 8 pm, EST)
Theme: Create a fall card, using MESH!

How it works:  This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!!  You no longer have to go to a ’starting blog’, or try to find your way to the ‘ending blog’. You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from!  It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started. :0)

Blog Candy: One winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess to win a free set of rubbah stamps oh yeah!!!! …so you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog so you don’t miss out! It’s like a treasure hunt inside a blog hop…he he he

**To find out if you’ve won… I will contact you via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on MY BLOG around Oct  20.

Ok, that’s the business part of this blog post, now the fun stuff:

I created this card while my friend Karyn Campbell was visiting me….so no pictorial, but I have to say it was such a pleasure meeting her irl!! She came to Charlotte with her dh for the races this weekend, and she made a special stop over my way on Wed. and even had dinner with us! We has SO much fun!!

Stamps sets used: Turkey, Crow (due in stock soon!*) Inks: Adirondak-Cabin Fever, Palette-Noir,  Cat’s Eye-chestnut roan, burnt sienna  Extras: negative from diecut, white gel pen, black ep, metal charms (colored with TriArt markers); pop dots, mesh, bling from the dollar row at Michael’s, ribbon-Michael’s;   Paper: DCWV fall stack, Xerox white 110# braying cs; card base-The Paper Studio

I was so excited to see the phrase from the crow fit so exactly in the Turkey box, I can’t believe I hadn’t put them together before!  lol

Here’s the link for the new Christmas sets!! Stamp some magic!

And now your next stop along the hop: URSULA

*should be in the shipment due in on Friday!

More paint chips!

October 13, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Be prepared, the next few postings are going to contain paint chips somewhere on them!! lol

Stamp sets used: Fall Flowers, Tumbling Scarecrow Extras:  Stickers (Autumn phrase); paint chips, embossing powder (clear), flower stencil (from cutting a flower diecut), scallop diecut (thanks Carole!)       Inks: Color Box Chalk and Cats Eye -chestnut roan, burnt sienna; Memento-black,   Paper-Club Scrap, freebie in the mail, paint chips

This is my favorite card from this weekend. I wanted to give the appearance of the flowers dancing and tumbling across my card…

Don’t forget this Friday is BLOG HOP DAY!! Our monthly hop starts on Friday at 8am (EST), and ends on Monday at 8pm;  all of my designers meet a challenge and post their art. We link to each other, and you, the hopper, jump from post to post to see how each of us met the challenge. The challenge changes every month. It’s a fun way to see a bunch of uses for FCD stamps in a short amount of time too, and there is ALWAYS blog candy!!  Hope you’ll hop along with us!
