Blog Hop February-Love Lyrics

February 18, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Blog Hops, Card Art, blog candy

This post is stuck to the top til Monday. For new posts, please srcoll down. thanks!
Official start:  Feb, 19 -08:00 (EST)
This blog hop will end on Feb 22 , 2200 (that’s 8 pm, EST)

Theme: Love Lyrics/Romance Songs

I had SO many ideas for this theme: “Do you love me… check yes or no”; “She signs her letters with xs and os”….and ended up with “Hey Mr. Postman….is there a letter for me???” lol…go figure! I’m writing a sweet note to my dh and mailing to his work addy….wont’ that be a fun surprise when the mail cart comes thru?? grin  The birds remind me of a kids song my mom taught us when we were younger (in German) about a little bird that that ” lands on my foot, with a letter in her beak from my mother.”  I was found myself humming it the entire time I was making this card…lol…

Please Mr. Postman....

Stamp set used: Heart Strings, You Hoooo, With a Flourish, Snail Mail, Going Postal (retired)      Digital image used: Conversation Heart Papers: Plain white cs, copy paper, DCWV blue scrapbook paper, Halcraft Card base-6.5×5             Colors: Copics, Triart Markers       Inks: Adirondack-sailboat blue, yellow sunshine; Stampabilities-baby blue; Memento-black          Extras: Sakura gelly roll pen-clear star, white    Ribbon-Michael’s;  hand colored dew drops

Steps:

  1. Inked the background of a plain white card base with yellow and blue inks, using a kitchen sponge.
  2. Stamped the postage stamp, added the heart image (heart strings), colored the heart and then stamped the canceled postage images (Going Postal)
  3. Stamped the flourishes in baby blue on one side.
  4. Printed the digital image-plain white cs. Stamped the heart inside the large heart, (heart strings) colored  all, then stamped the XO (heart strings). Ink edges using Whisped Frames (TJ)  technique
  5. Stamped the larger blue bird (on a die cut-coming soon) (You Hoo) colored with copics accented with white gel pen.
  6. Stamped the phrase at the bottom (Snail Mail), folded a small white piece of copy paper, inked edge (baby blue) stamped words (heart strings) for note.
  7. Mat digital on light blue paper, add ribbon to top. Pop dot larger bird, add a small slit in beak, add a bit of glue to back of head to give the note a place to hold on to.  Attach bird to top of digital/ribbon. Add a bit of glue to card base, so bottom of note also stays in place.
  8. Add a bit of glitz with the glitter pen, carefully go over some of the black lines, swirls only.

Blog Hop Details:

This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!!  You no longer have to go to a ’starting blog’, or try to find your way to the ‘ending blog’. You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from!  It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started. :0)

BLOG CANDY!! One winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess…so you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog so you don’t miss out! It’s like a treasure hunt inside a blog hop…he he he Prize?     A free stamp set, of course!! (my choice)

Your next stop is URSULA!!

Tutorial-painting digital images

January 27, 2010 By: Pamela Category: Card Art, Tutorials

Hello digital masters!

Just thought I’d show you how I used water color pencils, and Triart/Copic markers with Twinkling H2Os to paint two of my digital images. Click any thumbnail for a larger view.

Images were printed with Epson all in one, RX620 on plain white 110# cardstock. I DO have problems with the twinks making the ink run, so I’m very careful with my painting!! I think it has something to do with the papers I’m using…we shall see what the next batch brings!
