Blog Hop January!
Welcome to the first FCD Blog Hop of 2010!!
Official start: Jan. 22 -08:00 (EST)
This blog hop will end on Jan. 25 , 2200 (that’s 8 pm, EST)
Theme: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle-Celebrate the New Year by finding a new way to use an old product!
I decided to go through my ’stuff’ drawer, and see what’s been hiding in there for a few years. I found 3 cork coasters..and thought..yeah…why not…I’ll stamp them, and then wood burn them…I decided to color them too…see what you think!
To wood burn stamped images, you want to be sure they are large enough images with out TOO many details or they get lost in the burning process. I think these sets worked great! Click the thumbnails to see the larger images.
- All 3 finished coasters
- Stamp a transparency with your images using StazOn ink. Use this to determine what images to place where.
- Hover over the transparency for placement, remove transparency and stamp surface
- Stamped coaster with Black StazOn ink
- Carefully burn the lines of the image with a wood burning tool
- Half way done with this one
- Most of the stamped lines are burned. I left off the tiny detail lines
- Color the images with copics or triart markers
- Stamp sets used: Chicory, Sitting Pretty (curly leaves)
- Stamp sets used: Daffy Daffodils, Sitting Pretty (curly leaves)
- Stamp sets used: BE Susan, Sitting Pretty (curly leaves)
Sets used: Sitting Pretty (I LOVE the swirly stems in this set), BE Susan, Chicory, Golden Daffodils
This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You no longer have to go to a ’starting blog’, or try to find your way to the ‘ending blog’. You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started. :0)
BLOG CANDY!! One winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess…so you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog so you don’t miss out! It’s like a treasure hunt inside a blog hop…he he he
