the Sketch

September 12, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Since the challenge this past week was to use one of my card sketches I’ve created the sketch to go along with the fall card I posted a bit ago. I was just going to add it to the post, but I wasn’t sure if when I edit a post, if you subscribers get multiple copies of it??

So until I find the answer to this question, I’ll post this separately.

I decided to use multiple colors of cardstock, so each different color is numbered. (which is also how I tend to create all of my sketches, each number means another color)

For the oval tag, you could use a piece that matches the card base (color 1) or just do like I did, and use a tan piece (color 5) and ink the heck out of it, til it matches….lol  For color/layer 3, I also embossed it, and I actually matted it, but I didn’t list that as a color/layer. Hope that makes sense!! lol

A new sketch!

July 05, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art, Sketches

Since I will be posting the new stamps later today, and unveiling the images from Friday, I thought I’d jump in and post some more art I’ve been creating with the new images, and share another sketch!    Enjoy!

First the sketch: (remember you can click the images  for a larger view) I would LOVE to see what you do with this sketch! Please post a link in the comments when you’ve uploaded your creation!! This is a  4.25×5.5 inch card.

The stamp here is called ‘Boy with Flowers’ (catchy huh? lol) The words come from the Birthday Wishes red rubber set.

He is stamped on a scrap of photo paper, that I used the Copic Smoosh tutorial on.

Added Spring Flower Soft to the flowers.  The tiny bling is from a set of Flip Flop jewels I picked up at Target in the dollar bin…LOTS of jewels, for a buck!!

Here’s another card (not the same sketch tho…lol)

Clear stamp is the pussywillow branch. Red rubber images used: HB from Birthday Wishes, tiny butterfly from Solid
This card was fun to make, as I challenged myself to use some things I received in a RAK last month. (the spiral clip, the flowers, added to that buttons and a brad I had in my stash of  ’stuff’ ! LOL)  Background DP is from Club Scrap.

Found this fun 3 pack of butterflies at the dollar store, and altho they are bulky, I thought they’d be fun on a card. Here’s the first one I created. I’ve mailed it to a customer inside an order, where the bulkiness won’t matter! lol Hope she enjoys it!

Stamp sets used:Fruit Cup Inks: Palette   Extras: Diecuts-Fruit Cup       Shimmerz (angel wings)   Butterfly-Dollar Store (also added shimmerz to the wings )  Technique: Dragged Madras (Technique Junkies)            Papers: basic blue cs; designer paper-RAK  (thanks Barb!)  Sketch: FCD014

When I painted the ’sun’, I used dtp with Cat’s Eye ink-yellow citrus chalk starting at the edge, and working my way to the center, using lighter strokes as I went. Then I piled on the shimmerz “Sunny” (NEW)

I did the same thing on the tree, but I didn’t add shimmerz. I used only the small Cat’s Eye ink pads to ink my stamp, and then stamped the die cut.  Added more color with direct to paper method. (dtp)  Stamped the clouds with the cloud image from Just Breathe (retired-but I’m working on a new release of this set, due out in May!)
