Theme: Book Covers

Since it’s back to school time, we thought we’d use book covers for our inspiration. We could use the color scheme, sketch layout, idea theme, designs on the cover, anything about the cover that we could show in our piece. For mine, I was inspired by the layout and the way the photos on the cover were matted. I chose to reverse the black and white colors and keep the original sketch.

Here’s how I used the sketch and color scheme of this cover:

Stamp images used: Bliss, Punch Art 1, Silhouette Flowers, Birthday Wishes Colors: Copics/Triart, white gel pen (sakaura)  Papers: 110# white cs, 65 # black cs    Extras: tiny white bling

TIP: I bought a flip flop decoration that was triple lines of tiny white bling (which you can color with your copics btw) marked wayyy  down.  Be on the look out for these shoe decorations as summer closes; you can pick them up for about 25-75 cents and they last a long time…lol

Here’s the sketch, and I’ve got an extra special guest on my blog today too!

Here’s what I did with it!

This is a BRAND new digital design by Boni Boutelle-Jones-Fisherman Fin. I just LOVE it, and had to get it ready to release for the blog hop just so I could do this card…lol…

This set comes with 17 phrases!! Many of  them styled so you can use a phrase as I did, as fishing line! While I was working on this blog post, Boni was busy adding images to this set! There is now a fishy, container of worms, bucket of brew, and 2 lures!! GO BONI!

Rubber stamps used: Create a Scene (grasses), Thinking of You (fish, horsefly, and cat tails), bubbles

Theme: Open Roads
It’s finally summer, and that means road trips! Road trips are all about the tunes, right? So this months’ challenge focuses on the music we love as we fly down the road!!  Oops, did I say fly? I meant drive along at a reasonable speed, staying well with in the speed limit!!! I know there are lots of impressionable new drivers out there (I have two of them myself…) lol

We have a special treat for you all today!!
