When I painted the ’sun’, I used dtp with Cat’s Eye ink-yellow citrus chalk starting at the edge, and working my way to the center, using lighter strokes as I went. Then I piled on the shimmerz “Sunny” (NEW)

I did the same thing on the tree, but I didn’t add shimmerz. I used only the small Cat’s Eye ink pads to ink my stamp, and then stamped the die cut.  Added more color with direct to paper method. (dtp)  Stamped the clouds with the cloud image from Just Breathe (retired-but I’m working on a new release of this set, due out in May!)

Card Sketch-Project 2

January 28, 2008 By: Pamela Category: Sketches, Tutorials

Need a super quick card?? This simple card goes together in minutes and is a perfect choice for those last minute birthdays, office cards etc…

Card Sketches using “Journaling Blocks” Clear Stamps by FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela(Written by  Pamela Clark)

Skill Level: Easy Peasy!

Card 2

Double Dog Dare Ya!

Supplies needed:

1 card base (5 x 6.5)

2 pieces of coordinating card stock (green piece is 3 x3.5 and yellow piece is 5 ¾ x 4)

Ink-3 colors (I used Distress Inks by Ranger-Shabby Shutters, Mustard Seed, and Peeled Paint)

  1. Using circle block stamp, and Shabby Shutters ink- randomly stamps card stock base.
  2. Using ‘the More Than sign’ stamp (the one that looks a bit like a V), and Shabby Shutters ink, stamp 2 of the corners on the base cs.
  3. Using the paragraph lines stamp, turned sideways, and Mustard ink, stamp lines going up and down on yellow cs, about 1/3 of the way across.
  4. Stamp the large Bracket stamp at the end of the lines, (about 1/3 of the way across the yellow cs) with Shabby Shutters ink.
  5. Using the Peeled Paint ink, stamp the Double Speaking Balloon Stamp on the green cs. Stamp the paragraph lines inside the balloon.  Write or stamp your sentiment. (‘Double Dog Dare Ya’ is from the Innies and Outties “Those were the Days” set available at FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela.com)
  6. Stamp the Exclamation Mark stamp with both the Shabby Shutters and Mustard Seed inks under the balloon image.
  7. Ink all the edges with Shabby Shutters ink, and also ink the green cs with Peeled Paint Ink too.
  8. Write or stamp a message inside, and be sure to sign the back of your card too! (I used this as a birthday card, I wrote “To have a fantastic Birthday!”)

Card Sketch-Project 1

January 28, 2008 By: Pamela Category: Sketches, Tutorials

Card Sketches using “Journaling Blocks” Clear Stamps (on sale this week too!) Sketch for this card, and others are posted in the gallery, under Sketches.

Skill Level: Easy Peasy!

Card 1

Seeing Spots?

Supplies needed:

1 card base (5 x 6.5)

2 pieces of coordinating card stock (green piece is 4×6 and orange piece for circles)

Ink-2 colors

Circle punches OR circle cutting tools

  1. Stamp bg card base with neutral ink (I used walnut ink distress pad by Ranger) and dotted lines paragraph stamp.
  2. Using just the top line of the paragraph stamp, and orange ink (marigold ink distress pad by Ranger) stamp a single line on the top and bottom of green cs, then using the top two lines of the same stamp, stamp a double line along the  sides of the green cs.
  3. Stamp the circle stamp on the orange cs, and using the mega circle punch by Marvy, or a circle cutting tool, punch out the circle you stamped.
  4. Using a ¾ inch, one inch, and 1 ¾  circle punch (or circle cutting tool) punch out an even number of circles. I did 4- ¾ inch, 2-1 inch, and 2-1 ¾ inch ones.
  5. Ink all the edges in the marigold ink.
  6. Using a green marker, write in the words “Seeing Spots?” on the large circle.  (And using the same marker edge that circle.)
  7. Using the negative space from the circles you cut out-take a make up wedge, and the marigold ink, and dab circles all over the card base background.
  8. Put the card pieces together.
  9. Be sure to write/stamp a get well message inside the card too, and sign the back!!
