Waddlin in a winter wonderland

November 04, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

Had so much fun playing with this Santa duck…lol…hope you enjoy the card. (I’m still working on getting a new camera, sorry for no detail shots..)

Stamp sets used: Duck the Halls, Just Breathe, (trees)  Oh Holey Night (candy and dots)      Inks: Memento-Black; Staz-on Cactus (love this bright green color), Black; Adirondack-red pepper         Coloring: TriArt markers, white gel pen    Paper: Halcraft card blank 5×6.5″ ; Club Scrap pops, 110# white cs  Extras: Puff paint (santa trim, and beard); Flower soft-Polar white (snow on ground, and on trees), vellum tag, tree brad

Created a background directly on the card base by first lining it with a pencil, into a 3 part grid. Used the various stamps to create a fun pattern for each grid:

Blank card base

5x6.5 " Blank card base

Lightly mark out your grid. Stamp images (use a sticky note along the edge to keep from stamping into the other block)

3 section grid, stamped

3 section grid, stamped

Erase the lines (or you could use a marker and mark in the lines. For this one I decided to erase them). Stamped part of the trees on the vellum with Staz on green, used the fun tree brad to adhere it to the white cardstock.

the ’snow’ really shines nicely too!

This is really cute - I love how you used the different stamps to make the background, and I think the white Flower Soft makes great snow!
