Share an ATC

June 24, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art, Greetings

I came up with this idea….I hope you think  it’s fun too, cuz at 1 am when I thought of it, I thought it was great!!!…..lol

I created this card, that has 2 clear photo corners on it, to hold an atc. I created the ATC and put it in the holders. My idea is to send the card to someone, who would take out my atc, put in one they created and send it to someone else. I wrote inside the card, my first name, and state. The next person would write their name and state, and then when they’ve put their atc in it, they’d send it to the another person. (like a round robin) but they have to be in another state. This would keep going until the inside of the card is filled up, and the last person would then send the card (with their atc in it) back to me! I would end up with a new atc for my collection, PLUS the card filled up with names of artists from all over the USA!!

what do you think? sound like fun???   shall we try it????? lol

here’s the card and the ATC is the bit with the b-flies..(in case you couldn’ t tell).

Stamp sets used: Butter/Dragon Fly; Chicory ; ATC 2009 (on back)            Technique: Double Buggin     (TJ’s)                              Inks: Palette- Noir Black; Versamark; Cats Eye-olive, cyan blue           Colors: BIC markers             Shimmerz: Sunny; Pink Poinsettia CB folders: twigs, and flowers (looks like it was created JUST for my stamp set….he he)   Extra: Dewdrop blue (stash)

Embossed the flowers with versamark and clear (with a bit of glitter) embossing powder.  Color in with BIC markers.  Stamp butterflies with Palette, color in with shimmerz.

I guess the next question is….who wants to play? and what’s the best way to organize it??? LOL Any suggestions?

It IS a neat idea. I don’t know how you would organize it though since you don’t want to repeat states. That could pose problems.

I love the ATC! You would have to put your name and address on the card somewhere so the last person would know who to send it to. The repeat of states may pose a problem, too. Great idea, though.

What a fabulous idea! I love your card and the ATC!

I would love to participate…count me in if you get something going.

My thoughts on organizing, for what they are worth: I wouldn’t worry about repeating states or trying to get one from each state because it’s just too difficult to do. It could be a goal, but I wouldn’t make it a requirement. As for names, you could keep a running list of names and have people contact you for the next in line when they receive the card. That way, you could add to the list while the card is in circulation, and you’d always know its whereabouts. Like I said, just throwing out some thoughts.

What a beautiful card & ATC, and a super fun idea!! I probably would not worry about keeping track of its whereabouts or organizing the rounds. Just send it off with the instructions, put your name & addy on the back, and hope it comes back to you. Even if it never comes back, what did you lose - one card? No biggie, right? Let whoever has it send it to someone they know until it’s full. Hopefully it will show up as a complete surprise some months down the road. :o)
I’d love to play! ~Ursi in Alabama

I would love to play! I had an idea like this a while back, but my travelling RAKs never seem to go very far. Donna’s Idea about havingt people contact you when they get the card so that they will know the next address to mail it is a good one.

Fun idea - I would play if you get it going :)

It sounds like a fun idea but how do we find out the addres of other TJers?
I would also like to join if it gets started.

I like the idea a lot. Your card is gorgeous, and it shows people that ATCs can actually be “used”. I think the one sending the card on should include their email address somewhere, so you can comment on/ask questions about the ATC they sent.
I also like the idea of having a list ’somewhere’ so we can find out-of-state contacts.

I love this idea, too. I’ve never made an ATC, but would love to participate in this if you get it going. Your card is lovely.
