Pride Cards
Last nite I couldn’t sleep and was awake til 3 am…by 1130 pm I knew it was a lost cause, so I got out of bed, and went into my studio…lol….since I still have lots of parts to the RAK I received from my friend Pat, I decided to make some soldier cards. I realized I know someone from the church where I work, that has a son who is in Iraq. He’s young too, I think she said 20 or so? Anywho….she’s a single mom, and she’s been under a lot of stress, so I thought I’d make her a set of cards she could write in to send to her boy. I hope they give her some cheer!
This is the first one I did, and gasp! there are NO stamps on the outside!! Stickers, clear button that I attached with red brads, and some fun dp. Course, I am a STAMP designer, so you know…I can’t very well make cards that don’t have any stamping on them!! I stamped the inside, grin…
Card 2: Ah, yes…that’s a little better….stamped the stars in SU Whisper White, (from the Guardian Angle set) Boy what a simple card! 3 pieces of paper, layered together and adhered down to khaki cs. Stick on the “Proud” sticker, and a bit of punch at the bottom…DONE..
Card 3: Ok ok, this is good….stamped the stars on the bg. from Clear single: CS 203009 Magic Sparkle (just used the star part), the large red star was stamped already, added the stamped phrase from Guardian Angel set. Added Whisper white to the edges, and heat embossed with seafoam white embossing powder. (ep)
Card 4: This is even better, stamped the bg with Clear Single: CS2×2012 Star, stamped the verse from So Far Away. Used the exploding glitter dp (designer paper) to finish. Technique for background is called Depth of Field. (latest Tj’s newsletter) altho my lightest color didn’t show up too well in the scan…lol
Four quick, relatively simple cards, but they do the job I think! That was a fun diversion!! Hope you enjoyed it too! If you are interested in sending cards to soldiers, but don’t have any soldiers in your life, contact Cards for Heroes!! They send packages out all the time!
