Karen Madden’s spotlight art

October 26, 2009 By: Pamela Category: 2-Guest Designers, Card Art

I’m sad to say, today is the last day to see Karen’s art….We’ve really enjoyed having her on our team for the month of October. In case you missed her earlier pieces, you can see them (and all of our guest designer art in the gallery here)

Stamp sets used: Escape the daily grind

Don’t you love the soft pink in this one, with subtle shades of green? I like that she used puff paint for the steam too, adds a nice dimension.

a bit of trivia:  the coffee grinder in this set was modeled after one that I have from my German great grandmother.  I like the background pattern Karen created to show if off.  The brown ribbon is just the perfect accent to finish this card off.

Updated: OH MY!! I totally should have looked at my notes before I posted this last posting! Karen has embossed the background using a cool trick to leave the center NOT embossed…check this out! VIDEO LINK

Wonderful cards! I love the background and mug on the first one. I agree puff paint steam is a novel idea!
