Design Team 3-2008-2009
This year there were 50 artists trying out, with over 300 pieces of art submitted!! It took us over a week to work our way thru all of the submissions, and it was SO difficult to narrow it down to just 6….which is why I added 2 more slots!!
Please welcome the new FireCracker Designs by Pamela Design Team 2008-2009
in no particular order:
Lisa Helmts:
My name is Lisa and I am from Vacaville, CA a small”ish” suburb near the bay area. I work for a life insurance brokerage firm and recently became engaged to the most wonderful man, Nick. He is a correctional officer for the State of California and works odd shifts, those are the times I sneak off to my stamp room. He not only supports this addiction, oops I mean “hobby,” 110%, but he is also my number one fan. He is the first person I run to when that card just came out right. We are planning on getting married October 2009.
I started stamping on a visit to see my dad and step-mom in Wisconsin in July 2007. She wanted to show me how to make the cards that I was always getting for the holidays. We did it for 4 hours the night before I was to leave to head home and I was hooked from the start. I quickly became a fan of splitcoast stampers and made it my mission to practice, practice, practice.
When not stamping I enjoy reading, seeing live music and going to the movies. On occasion I enjoy a good margarita or a nice glass of wine.
Libby Hickson:
I’m Libby and I’m so completely thrilled to be a new member of the FireCracker Designs by Pamela team! I live in Austin, TX with my hubby, toddler son and baby girl. I started out as a scrapbooker about eight years ago, then was invited to one of those in-home parties (I think you know what I mean! *wink*) and became hooked on stamping!
I still considered myself more of a scrapper until about a year and a half ago, when I discovered blogging and in turn, all of the wonderful little internet stamp companies out there. Now my scrapbooks are pushed to the side and getting hopelessly behind while I stamp the night away. I think it’s because my time to be creative is rather limited with two little ones in the house, and making a card takes so much less time to complete than a scrapbook layout - there’s more “instant gratification” when it’s done. Plus I just love to color!! And boy does Pamela have some gorgeous images to color - I can’t wait to start playing with some of her flowers!!
Vicki Parson:
Hello friends!! My name is Vicki Parson and I live in the Midwest with a wonderfully supportive husband & two very active boys in school & sports! They certainly keep me on my toes! When I’m not spending precious time with my family or my fur baby Mocca, I enjoy reading & taking walks with my husband. However, I have this habit….I really LOVE to get my hands on stamps and ink….constantly! I have always loved crafts even as a little girl and I feel so blessed to have stamping as a huge part of my life.
I’ve always been interested in crafts for as long as I can remember! Even as a teenager I was fascinated with rubber and ink! I would imagine all the possibilities that could result with them. My family’s lives has been pretty much dominated with crafts as well; my great grandma, grandma, mother, myself and my youngest son have all been impacted with it somehow in our lives. I guess it’s just in the blood! I’ve been stamping for several years and will probably never tire of it any time soon! The rest has followed along as such and I couldn’t be happier! J
I’m very excited to be apart of this design team and I look forward to creating with these wonderful images by Pam!! I hope that you enjoy my creations with them and I really look forward to sharing with all of you!
NenaMarie:
Aloha and Mabuhay! My name is Marie Pavitt. I am an Army Wife, Nursing Student, and Full-Time mommy to a beautiful Princess. I was challenged by a friend this past February to make my own Valentine’s Card and ever since, my passion for paper crafting has grown.
My husband is my biggest support emotionally. He pushes me to be inspired and create beautiful things with my hobbies. I also crochet and draw. I LOVE art. It will always be a part of me.
I am quite thankful to be a part of the Design Team for FireCracker Designs by Pamela. I was thoroughly shocked to be chosen among many more talented individuals who have been stamping longer than me! I hope to bring unique projects and to inspire you with my creations. Happy Stamping!

Sherri:
I live in the Northeast with my Husband and Daughter. I am a SAHM and love every single minute of it. I am so thrilled to have been chosen to be on the design team for FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela. I have always loved crafts and for years did floral arrangements. About 4 years ago I started scrapbooking here and there for my daughter’s books and just 3 short months before auditioning for FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela’s Design Team call, I started stamping. Yes, I have only been stamping 3 months, so this is an honor for me and should be a lesson for all “newbie” stampers. You can do it to! Have Faith! I just want to say thank you to Pam for choosing me for this wonderful opportunity! I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for me and the new DT. Blessings!

Hi. My name is Heather Lee-Reppen. I am thrilled and honored to be part of the newest Firecracker Designs by Pamela design team. I am currently a stay at home mom to 2 wonderful children. I have a B.S. in microbiology and in my life B.C. (before children) I was a scientist for a biotech company here in Madison, WI . I now spend my days trying to keep my kids from licking the shopping cart at the grocery store and from eating food off the floor. Stamping is the key to my sanity. Fortunately for me, I have a husband who understands that without my stamps, my sanity is completely out the window (an so is his dinner)! I have been stamping for about 10 years but only seriously for the past 5 years. Every spare second I have in between swimming lessons, playdates, preschool, piano lessons, etc I try to spend in my stamp room. I can’t wait to get working with Pamela and the rest of the design team!
Karyn:
Hi I am Karyn and I have been crafting on and off for my entire life different avenues such as counted cross stitch, poetry, drawing, crochet, decoupage and any other thing I could get my hands on. While away camping for a weekend my dd and I attended a stamping demo in the “big barn” where we ended up stamping the afternoon away. My dd picked out one set of stamps and an inkpad to buy, I didn’t pick anything but DID take the catalog they gave me to look at! Of course the next day and many days thereafter I found this or that which I HAD to have! Now all these years later I tend to focus on rubber stamped cards with occasional projects like pins, altered items and magnets thrown in for good measure. I resides in Ohio with my dh (who works hard so I can use my money for my stamping passion LOL) and my college age daughter; mostly a scrapper but she also likes to get inky sometimes too! Several years back I became active in an online stationery group and was dubbed Froglady there - long story LOL - so when I started trying to make a little money on the side with stationery and crafting items I started ~A Froglady Creation~ and it has grown now to include my blog and the selling of handmade cards and other items. FireCracker Designs by Pamela is my first try at a DT and I am uber thrilled to be here!
Julie:
My name is Julie Warner. I’m originally from Texas but now live in north Georgia. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been busy creating something. Art, music, fabric or needle arts. My great grandmother was an artist and she taught me to paint when I very young. She worked in oil paints, while I always preferred water colors. In high school, I had several of my art pieces selected to tour museums and it was then that I discovered stamping. Back then we carved our own and it mostly resembled block printing. I continued carving my own or making stamps out of erasers or felt glued to blocks for a number of years. Then came the wonderful world of rubber stamps. I’ve been hooked on rubber stamps for about 15 years. I’ve been published a number of times in The Rubber Stamper (now part of Crafts and Things), Stamper’s Sampler and most recently in Just Invitations, a special issue from Just Cards.
When creating, I have my own 3 C’s rule for the things most important to me: Color, Composition and Construction. I love color, especially jewel tones and bright colors. My style tends to be detail oriented and I love to use a lot of layers. Sometimes I get so caught up in the design I forget to use all the neat embellishments. Maybe one day soon, I’ll be able to have my own art room and have it all in front me where I won’t forget to use it.
