Design Team 2- 2007-2008

September 12, 2009 By: Pamela Category: Card Art

After judging 97 pieces of art submitted for my new design team, THESE super-talented ladies have been chosen to represent

FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela for the  2007-2008 art year! There was SO much gorgeous art submitted,

it was a real challenge narrowing down the winners to just 6. There were 2 ladies that came in so close, well, I chose 7 new members!!

Update: I’ve had three members who had some unexpected circumstances and have had to leave before their terms were up. Judy Parlin has graciously accepted my invitation to replace them for the rest of this term. THANKS so much Judy!

Enjoy their work, I know I will!!

Hello my name is Brenda Loock.  I live in Green Bay, WI with my wonderful hubby and 3  gorgeous children. When my first child was born I read something in a parenting magazine while sitting in the doctors office. It was an article about how people were cutting up their pictures and mounting them on colored paper. It sounded very interesting. There was also a pull out card to order Precious Moments kits.  I ordered them. I was very excited when I got my album and first couple of kits in the mail. I didn’t know anyone who did “Scrapbooking” so I was learning on my own. Boy did I ever have a lot to learn!!! That first album is a pretty sad looking thing. Two years later I was introduced to stamping. My SIL invited me to a party she was having. I was determined not to spend a lot of money because who in their right mind spends money on rubber stamps.  Even after the amazing things I saw that night I still placed a pretty small order. I was not going to waste money on things I would never be able to do. Well my SIL wouldn’t give up, she kept inviting me, her friends invited me. Finally I realized “Hey I can use these things in those scrapbook things I’ve been doing. Then they will look really cool” Here I am 11 years and a few (ahem) dollars later.

I don’t ever see my life without rubber stamps.  It is definitely therapy for me. I even created a sign for my stamping space that says appropriately “therapy zone- in session” My oldest daughter loves to draw, my youngest daughter has her very own “collection” stamps and inks already. And my son loves to play with all those wood blocks that my stamps used to be on.  My hubby?  Well he always says”whatever makes you happy hon.”

This is my first experience as a DT member. I enjoy using Pam’s stamps, so the “assignments” should come easy!!!

Etha:

Hi everybody, I am Etha Schuette and have been stamping only for some 2 years. I have dabbled in many creative outlets all my life, knitting, tatting, bobbin lace, beading and weaving to name a few.  I am so thrilled to be on Pamela’s Design Team as I really love her images and look forward to working with them. I am 46, soon to be grandma and live in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with my husband of 21 years and two Golden Retrievers.  I hike a lot with the dogs, we average 5 miles a day, give or take a few. I also love organic gardening and anything nature, a biologist by training .

I like to try out new things in stamping and get a kick out of stamping on surfaces other than paper, especially wood. I also like using stamps in unexpected ways, repeating partial images or layering through masking

Jennifer:

Hi everyone!  I’m Jennifer Greco, and I live in Madison, WI with my family.  I’m lucky to have a darling husband who is very supportive of my paper crafting habit (umm, I mean hobby), and a stamper-in-training who loves to help me create!  We are expecting another little boy in November. I started out with just a small group of friends who introduced me to stamping and it was love at first ink!  I have now been stamping for about 5 years; getting much more serious in the last 2 years or so.  I am absolutely fascinated with new techniques, always looking to try them and learn.  My stamping style has changed so much since those first days, it’s just amazing to look back at those cards and scrap pages and see how far I (and also the hobby in general!) have come.  I will try anything that can fall under the umbrella of stamping, including scrapbooking, 3D/altered items, gifts, journals, you name it!

The majority of my projects at this point in time are cards.  I am absolutely THRILLED to be a designer for FireCracker Designs by Pamela, her artwork is truly amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of her stamps

Judy:

Hi My Name is Judy. I reside in Pawtucket RI. As far as I know I am the only stamper in the state of RI. I’m not as fortunate as most of you who get together to do stamping.  I have learned everything from the Internet.  I have had the opportunity, though, to make some wonderful friends and even adopted a sister. My house is sort of a compound. It’s known as “Judy’s compound”. My second husband and I own a house and an apartment house all on the same property. We used to rent the apartment house but now it is all family. Two sons occupy the two apartments. One is married and one I pray for. I have a beautiful DIL and we are best friends. A grandson and a granddaughter also live here. I have one other son living in the Chicago area and he also has a beautiful wife.  They are the parents of my youngest granddaughter. My “hobbies” used to be many, but since the stamping bug bit me I am totally stamping and all other crafts had to make way for all my stamping “stuff”. I have been stamping about 5 years now. I love doing cards and haven’t branched out far from there.  I have done a few name frames for friends and they seem to like them. When Pam asked me to be on her team I was so excited!!!  Then I saw all the other talented ladies and I was a little intimidated.  Pam has such great stamps and great talent I wasn’t sure I was worthy.  Of course I said yes, and immediately was filled with self doubt, but I am loving every minute and with her stamps it would be hard to not be able to create.  Her stamps  are so creative they just inspire you.  Thank you Pam for your faith in me and for your wonderful creativity.

Lorraine:

My name is Lorraine Revalee and my husband and I retired to Fairfield Glade, TN to golf and enjoy life.  I was introduced to rubber stamping 11 years ago and don’t regret one minute of it.  It is the best creative outlet for me and I never get tired of stamping or creating.

We winter in FL and I have a wonderful group of stampers there as well as TN.My favorite part of cards is making background techniques and then using them with leftover scraps and images.  I also love my stamping club’s challenge each month.  I am so delighted to be a Design Team member for FirecrackerDesigns by Pamela and look forward to another new challenge each month.

Design team members who had to leave us:

Korin:

Hi all!  I’m Korin Sutherland.  I live in a very small town in Amish country PA.  I’m married to a great guy who is very tolerant of my hobbies mostly because he has quite a few himself ;).  I am also a very busy homeschool mother to three rowdy little boys.  I’ve been stamping obsessively, er–I mean passionately for almost 5 years ;).  It’s interesting to look back and see how my style (and talent) has evolved.  I have to say that card making is probably my favorite of all my paper crafting hobbies with scrapbooking as a close second.

I love to incorporate stamps in my albums because they are so versatile!I am very excited to be a part of the Firecracker Designs by Pamela DT.  Thanks Pamela for this awesome opportunity

Hi my name is Donna but all my friends call me Nettie. This is a nickname given to me for the hours I spend surfing the net. I live in Cleveland Ohio with my hubby of 27 years. I have one daughter who is an extremely talented stamper herself. She resides in Utah with her newlywed hubby. I work full time running a shop of 9 guys for a local readymix company. This supports my addictive hobby!I have been stamping for a little over four years and have been published numerous times in Stampington & Company’s Take Ten and Stamper’s Sampler magazines. Other crafty ideas have been published in Woman’s Day Magazine. My style of stamping tends to be elegant but simple. I am delighted to be a part of such a talented team of designers and look forward to working with Pam’s unique stamps. In addition, other crafts I enjoy include polymer clay, dry embossing and sewing.
